They just wanted to dig themselves out of the financial hole they were in, grow their wealth, replace their income and enjoy a lifestyle of freedom and abundance.
Jonathan and Hannah are the kind of couple who make you believe in big dreams and bold action.
At just 23 and 29 years old, they decided they weren’t going to settle for a life of “just okay.” Instead, they set out to create a future filled with freedom, adventure and financial independence. But as inspiring as their story is now, it started with two very different paths.
Jonathan described himself as “the black sheep of the family.” Growing up in Melbourne, he faced a lot of challenges at home, where his parents often fought over money. Life was chaotic, and Jonathan didn’t always make the best choices.
When his mom finally forced him to move to Busselton, Western Australia, it felt like punishment.
“What did I do to deserve this?” he wondered. But sometimes, the hardest changes turn out to be the best. Busselton gave him the chance to reset, even if it didn’t feel like it at first.
Hannah’s childhood couldn’t have been more different. Growing up in a stable home with a teacher mom and accountant dad, she attended private school and followed a more traditional path.
But even with all that structure, she realised early on that the standard “go to school, get a degree, and work a 9-to-5 job” formula wasn’t for her. “I wanted more,” she said. So, she made a bold decision: she dropped out of university.
When Jonathan and Hannah met, their dreams clicked perfectly into place. They were determined to build something extraordinary together, even if it meant taking risks and stepping far outside their comfort zones.
With Jonathan’s resilience and Hannah’s adventurous spirit, they became an unstoppable team.
Jonathan’s life wasn’t easy growing up. His parents’ constant fights about money created a tense atmosphere, and their on-again, off-again relationship left him feeling unsettled.
“My dad moved to Busselton to keep him away from the casino,” Jonathan said, reflecting on how money struggles shaped his family’s decisions. As a teenager in Melbourne, he struggled to focus. The big city was full of distractions, and Jonathan admitted to getting into his share of trouble.
When his mom insisted he move to Busselton, a much smaller town, it felt like the end of the world. Jonathan loved the fast pace of Melbourne and couldn’t imagine life in a quiet place like Busselton. But the move turned out to be the fresh start he needed.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck during his early twenties. His cousin passed away, and not long after, his mother also died. Losing his mom was devastating, but it also became a turning point. “That was the moment I realized I had to make changes,” Jonathan explained.
At 24, he made a life-altering decision to return to school. He enrolled in accounting and finance, determined to create a better future for himself.
Even as he made progress, Jonathan felt a growing desire for something more. He didn’t want to follow a traditional career path just for the sake of stability.
Meeting Hannah reinforced his belief that there was a bigger life waiting for him—one where he could be in control of his time, his money, and his destiny.
Hannah grew up in what many would call an ideal environment. Her parents provided a stable home, and she attended private school, where she was encouraged to aim high.
Her father, an accountant, and her mother, a teacher, worked hard to give her and her siblings the best opportunities. But even with such a solid foundation, there was something missing.
“In my house, my parents never spoke about money,” Hannah said. She grew up not knowing much about how to save, invest, or build wealth. It wasn’t until she went to university that she began questioning the traditional path. “I realised it wasn’t for me, and I wanted more,” she explained.
Her decision to drop out wasn’t easy, especially since her parents thought she was making a huge mistake. But Hannah knew deep down that she was meant for something different.
When she met Jonathan, their shared dreams made her even more determined. Both of them wanted a life that wasn’t limited by the expectations of others. They wanted to travel, invest, and build a future that allowed them to be present for their family someday.
Hannah’s courage to step away from the status quo would later become one of her greatest assets. She wasn’t afraid to take risks or think creatively, which would prove crucial as they navigated their real estate journey.
After stepping away from university, Jonathan and Hannah had to find a way to support themselves while figuring out their next steps.
They landed jobs in door-to-door sales, an experience that would test their perseverance in every way imaginable.
“We were knocking on doors in the rain, in 40-degree weather,” Hannah remembered. It wasn’t glamorous, but it taught them how to handle rejection, stay motivated, and never give up.
It was during this time that COVID-19 turned the world upside down. The uncertainty of the pandemic made them reflect deeply on their lives. They got married during COVID, a bittersweet moment filled with love but also the realisation that time is precious.
One day, while Jonathan was out knocking on doors, he received devastating news. “My mom’s cancer had progressed further,” he said. That phone call was a wake-up call for both of them.
“We realised we weren’t living life to the fullest,” Hannah said. That realisation sparked a fire in them to make a change. They started dreaming bigger and searching for ways to create the life they truly wanted.
Real estate caught their attention, offering the promise of freedom and the chance to build something lasting. But they didn’t jump in right away. Like many people, they wrestled with fear and uncertainty.
Their time in door-to-door sales taught them that persistence and grit are the keys to success. It also gave them the confidence to tackle the challenges ahead. This was the start of their journey into property and while they didn’t know it yet, their lives were about to change forever.
As Jonathan and Hannah began exploring their options, real estate kept popping up as a potential path to the life they dreamed of. But jumping into something so big wasn’t easy. “We saw an ad for the I Love Real Estate Community while scrolling on Facebook,” Jonathan explained.
At first, they were skeptical. Was it real? Could they trust it? They couldn’t shake the idea that it might be a scam.
Even with their doubts, the program intrigued them. They were tired of working hard without seeing lasting results and real estate seemed like the golden ticket to something better.
After much deliberation, they decided to take the plunge and join the Ultimate Real Estate Success Coaching Program.
“We knew that if we invested in ourselves and got the education and coaching we needed, we’d be forced to take action.”
It wasn’t a smooth start. Like many people, Jonathan and Hannah were stuck in a scarcity mindset. They had saved $47,000 from their hard work, but they were terrified of losing it.
For three years, they did nothing.
They spent their time looking at properties and crunching numbers but couldn’t bring themselves to make a move. The fear of making a mistake held them back.
Then came the pivotal moment in July of last year. “We pulled the trigger on Platinum,” Jonathan shared, describing the decision to invest in a higher level of education within the community called the Platinum Accelerator Mentoring Program.
It was nerve-wracking but also thrilling. “We were both super scared, but we knew this was the push we needed to finally take action.”
This decision marked the beginning of their transformation.
Armed with knowledge and a Platinum Coach to guide them, Jonathan and Hannah were ready to leave their fears behind and step into the world of real estate with confidence.
With their newfound commitment, Jonathan and Hannah dove into the property market. But the journey wasn’t as simple as watching an ad and suddenly finding success.
The Perth real estate market was fiercely competitive and properties seemed to disappear as soon as they hit the market.
“We placed over 20 offers on properties within a few months,” Jonathan said. Every weekend was packed with home opens, market research and countless rejections.
Despite the frustration, they refused to give up. Their determination paid off when they finally secured their first deal: a rooming house conversion.
It wasn’t just any property, it was a home that could be transformed into a rental powerhouse.
With the help of their Platinum Coach, they worked through every step of the process, from crunching numbers to designing the layout. “We thought we could only get five bedrooms, but our coach helped us realise we could fit six,” Hannah explained.
The results were worth the hard work. Their first property generated $33,000 in positive cash flow and saw its value increase by $100,000 within just a few months.
“Seeing that money in the bank wasn’t doing anything for us, but this property was already making a difference,” Jonathan said. It was the kind of win that showed them they were on the right path.
Their first property wasn’t just a financial success, it was a confidence booster. It taught them that persistence and creative problem-solving were the keys to unlocking opportunities in real estate.
After the success of their first property, Jonathan and Hannah decided to tackle a new challenge: buying their own home.
At the time, they were renting for $550 a week and they realised that owning their own place could be a smarter financial move.
One Sunday morning while scrolling through listings, Hannah noticed a property that had just come back on the market. It didn’t have a price listed — just an invitation for offers.
Sensing an opportunity, she called the agent immediately.
“I asked him why the property was back on the market and he told me the previous buyer’s finance had fallen through,” Hannah said. What happened next was pure gold.
With a combination of charm and persistence, Hannah convinced the agent to share the previous buyer’s offer: $725,000. Normally, an agent wouldn’t reveal that kind of information, but Hannah knew how to ask the right questions.
By the time she hung up the phone, she and Jonathan had secured the property for the same price. A little more research revealed that similar properties in the area were selling for over $800,000, meaning they had already made an incredible deal.
But they didn’t stop there. The couple decided to make their PPR work for them financially.
They separated part of the property into a rental studio, which immediately started generating cash flow. “It’s so much better than paying rent,” Jonathan said. Their PPR became another example of how creative thinking and quick action could turn a simple property into a profitable investment.
One of the biggest reasons for Jonathan and Hannah’s success is how well they work together. They’ve found a way to balance their strengths and support each other through every challenge. While Jonathan focused on his sales job to keep their finances steady, Hannah took the lead on managing their property renovations.
“She called the tradies, managed the schedules and made sure everything ran smoothly,” Jonathan said proudly.
Renovating wasn’t always easy, and there were plenty of unexpected hurdles along the way. “We had a plan going in, but things always change during renovations,” Hannah explained.
“That’s where having a coach really helped. Our coach was there to guide us and remind us that it’s okay to adjust as you go.”
Even with their careful planning, there were moments of humour and trial. Jonathan attempted to hang a mirror in one of their properties but ended up with eight holes in the wall. “I’ve never used a drill before,” he laughed. It’s moments like these that highlight the fun and teamwork that make their journey unique.
Their dynamic duo approach has turned what could have been overwhelming challenges into opportunities for growth. Whether it’s making tough decisions or celebrating small wins, Jonathan and Hannah have proven that teamwork truly makes the dream work.
Jonathan and Hannah’s success so far is just the beginning of what they hope to achieve. Their vision for the future is crystal clear: freedom.
They want the freedom to travel the world, meet inspiring people, and learn from those who’ve achieved even greater success.
“We love being in rooms where we can learn from everyone around us,” Hannah explained. For them, it’s not about competing with others — it’s about growth and connection.
They’ve also set a powerful goal for themselves: early retirement. “We want to retire before we have kids so that we can be fully present with them,” Jonathan said.
Growing up, they both experienced the stress and sacrifices that came from parents working long hours and they’re determined to create a different life for their future family.
To make that dream a reality, they’ve calculated their target: $200,000 to $250,000 in passive income. It’s an ambitious number, but Jonathan and Hannah are confident they can reach it in the next two to three years.
Their journey has already proven that hard work, persistence and a willingness to take risks can lead to incredible results.
Their story isn’t about luck or shortcuts. It’s about being brave enough to dream big and bold enough to take action. With their drive and determination, there’s no doubt they’ll continue achieving amazing things.
When Jonathan and Hannah started their journey, they had no properties, no experience and a whole lot of fear.
Fast-forward to today, and their progress is nothing short of remarkable.
Within just three months, they secured two deals: a rooming house conversion that generates $33,000 in annual cash flow and their PPR with a rental studio that brings in additional income.
Together, these investments have given them over $200,000 in equity and $42,000 in positive cash flow — a solid start toward their passive income goal.
“It’s so exciting to see what we’ve been able to accomplish in such a short time,”
The fear that once held them back has been replaced with confidence and a belief that they’re capable of even more.
Their journey wasn’t without its challenges. From battling self-doubt to navigating a fiercely competitive property market, they’ve faced plenty of obstacles. But every rejection, every tough decision and every moment of uncertainty has only strengthened their resolve.
Looking back, Jonathan and Hannah are grateful for the lessons they’ve learned and the community that’s supported them along the way. “We waited too long to take action, but we’re making up for lost time now,” Jonathan said.
Their message to others is simple: don’t wait. The sooner you start, the sooner you can create the life you’ve always dreamed of.
For Jonathan and Hannah, property investing isn’t just about numbers and deals—it’s about creating the life they’ve always imagined. They dream of traveling the world, exploring new cultures, and spending quality time together (and with their adorable dog, Timu!).
“Timu means ‘skycat’ in Chinese,” Jonathan laughed. “We had to name him something Chinese.” Whether it’s their playful approach to naming their dog or their serious commitment to financial freedom, Jonathan and Hannah’s story is one of balance. They work hard, but they also know the importance of enjoying the journey.
What’s next for this dynamic duo? More deals, more learning, and more action. “We’re hoping to get into commercial properties next,” Jonathan said. They’ve also learned the value of seizing opportunities without hesitation. “There’s no point in waiting,” Hannah said. “We’ve waited before, and we don’t want to make that mistake again.”
Their story is a testament to the power of persistence and the magic of dreaming big. They started with nothing but determination and turned it into a future filled with promise. “If we can do it, and I’m 23 and had no idea what I was doing, anyone can do it,” Jonathan said with a grin.
As they continue their journey, Jonathan and Hannah are proof that with the right mindset, support, and willingness to learn, anything is possible.
